5.3 to 6.1 Migration

These migration notes assumes that you are going from 5.3 demo to the 6.1 demo. There might be additional migration steps necessary for your particular implementation of Broadleaf. If so, please let us know through our Gitter, our Google Group, or by submitting a pull request to this documentation repo at https://github.com/BroadleafCommerce/docs.

Migrate to 6.0

The first step is to use the [[5.2 To 6.0 Migration Notes | 5.2-to-6.0-Migration]] to migrate from 5.3 to 6.0. Please refer to [[6.0.0-GA Release Notes | 6.0.0 GA]] to view the changes made from 5.2 to 6.0.

Migrate to 6.1

The last step is to use the [[6.0 To 6.1 Migration Notes | 6.0-to-6.1-Migration]] to migrate from 6.0 to 6.1. Please refer to [[6.1.0-GA Release Notes | 6.1.0-GA]] to view the changes made from 6.0 to 6.1. Some of the steps may not be required as 6.1 was a release made to merge the 5.3 line into the 6.0 line along with upgrading the third party dependencies such as Spring, Hibernate, and Solr. Additionally a few additional schema changes were made from 6.0 to 6.1 that couldn't be added to a patch release of 6.0. The 6.0 To 6.1 Migration Notes specify which changes are required because of 5.3 being merged into 6.0 and which changes are required that are applicable to projects starting from 5.3.
